We are so excited to announce this new Teacher of the Year Award that we will be giving to a very special PTA Teacher of the Year.  Please share the attached award pages with your Association and your Board Members for input, as this should be a group decision.

We want to let our Teachers know how much we value and appreciate their support. Please send us information about a Teacher at your school that deserves recognition. Every Teacher that is nominated for the Sonoma, Mendocino, or Lake County PTA Teacher of the Year Award will be invited to walk with the PTA in this Year’s Rose Parade on May 17^th, and all nominated Teachers will be invited to come to our end of the year Bar-B-Que.

California State PTA President, Pam Brady, will be joining all of our teachers during their walk in the parade, as well as at our Bar-B-Que .  Pam will present our Honored PTA Teacher of the Year this very special award during our Bar-B-Que.

All Unit Board Members will be invited to attend our Bar-B-Que with their families. We would also like you to extend the invitation to the incoming Board Members as well. At this time we would like to ask you to please fill out all of the attached forms and send them to us by the due dates. We look forward to receiving your nomination for your PTA Teacher of the Year!

Application Instructions:

Applications are available and can be downloaded from the 14^th District PTA Website if you are missing the email-attached version. 

 The following materials must be submitted as your complete Teacher of the Year application:

1.      Your signed Application Form

2.      A separate written document with the information requested on the application.

3.      Letters of support

Send your application to your PTA District by: February 20-25, 2008

   Purpose:      The purpose of the 14^th District PTA Teacher of the Year Award is to acknowledge and honor teachers for exceptional service, and leadership in support of children, families, schools, and communities.

Eligibility:      Nominees DO have to be PTA members.
